5 Things to Consider Before Purchasing a Black Friday Trampoline
It’s summertime and the kids are bouncing
off the walls with boundless energy. Are you considering purchasing a
backyard trampoline to help burn off that energy? Not so fast!
Trampolines can be a source of great fun for kids, but parents are smart
to proceed with caution.
#1 How Old Are Your Kids?
First, consider the age of the children.
Only children over 6 years of age should be allowed to play on a
trampoline. While that may seem restrictive, the fact is that children
under the age of 6 are not physically developed enough to withstand the
force of impact generated by trampoline use. The risk of severe injury
is much higher with this age group. Consider holding off purchasing a
trampoline until all children in the household are at least 6 years old.
#2 What Are Your Options?
Educate yourself on the options. Modern
trampolines have come a long way with enhanced safety netting and
padding. There are even spring free and in-ground trampolines on the
market. While these features can’t eliminate the risk associated with
trampolines, they do mitigate some of the safety hazards of more
traditional trampolines.
